Well i have had an extremly busy week and missed a few of my daily blogs...im sorry sometimes life just seems to get in the way doesnt it....
This week we have tlked about going with the flow until the cost gets to much to stay in the game.. in Poker it means the opponents have raised the stakes and its going to cost you alot more money to ethier see the next card and stay in the game.... you may have 4 great cards waiting on the 1 card for a powerful hand, but you decide the raise in stakes isnt worth the risk....
Remeber what i said in week 1, Gambling is a risk versus reward venture....What are we willing to risk...?
In our churches today we have ms go with the flow, they are ok crusing thru life at church, maybe they are even a little active in some things, BUT when the stakes get raised and they are asked to make a firm committment to God or church, they cant do it and fold. walking away from both.
These stakes can be pretty high depending on the situation, maybe your living in sin with your roomate and when a sermon touches that topic you know its wrong..... what do you do? fold? or stay in the game and change your behavior?
Maybe you like to go to nightclubs drinking and dancing , or any other risky behavior, ....when you feel convicted that the lifestyle is wrong what do you do? condone it ? ignore it? fold and run from God?
Next week will be my last week in this series....it will address the most powerful person sitting at the poker table and in our churches....
