Mission and Vision

E-mail Print PDF

The core vision of the OAA worship center is to :
Love God, Live his mission, love people and train them to follow. Reaching the World, one life at a time.

First and foremost we are to Love GOD. Matthew 22:37 “You shall love the Lord thy God with all your heart soul and mind.” This is the first and Great commandment. So Our first vision is to LOVE GOD.

We do this Thru Worship

Our church's worship is not just once a week on Sunday. It’s growing through the week in each individual. It is constantly growing and developing, as long as the individuals are growing. When the individuals stop growing, worship stops happening. When that happens the church becomes stagnant and literally dies, spiritually then dies physically. Worship is the natural expression of adoration and obedience from the heart of those whom love God. Psalm 22;3

Worship is to include, Prayer, singing, tithing.

Our second key to Loving God is to OBEY

Obedience should be our natural And logical response to GODS love and revelation.

As authentic Christians we SEEK to obey Gods word and commands,-- yes we will fail, and yes we will fall but we need to get back up and keep on.

1 Samuel 15:22 “behold to OBEY is better than sacrifice and to heed than the fat of the rams.

Obedience is an indicator of discipleship 1 john 2:3 “Now by this we may know Him if we keep His commandments”.

We seek to hold our selves accountable and are not happy just to know Gods word, We SEEK to respond to his teachings.

AS an OAA worship center member- what this means is we

A. Need to love GOD- and worship him daily, in our personal time apart

B. Obey what he tells us to do, corporately and individually

Secondly we need to LIVE HIS MISSION. Matthew 28 19 “go therefore to all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit”.

We will do this by SERVING and SHARING

First we will SERVE

Matthew 20:26-28 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 27And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—28just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Our community around us has many needs. Our vision is to search out these needs and help those around us.

There are physical needs… People needing clothing, food, we will develop ways to reach out and help feed and cloth these people.

There are social needs… Our goal is to set up training programs to help educate and train people to become gainfully employed. Have a computer training class to learn how to use mainstream office type setting programs.

There are Spiritual needs… The people around us know they have a spiritual need, but have turned off to organized religions. Thru our approach to serve them we will look for ways to assist them in finding their spiritual needs.

We are compelled to share the message of hope to which we have responded , with the people in our sphere…and the ones you touch, at work, at play , at school games etc.

We seek to live authentic lives as a disciple of Christ and thus validate the transformational life god promises….

****** We will tell others what God has done in our life and how he has changed us.**** BUT you must be living it……..

Luke 19:10

10for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

OUR job is evangelization. Not evangelism….

Evangelism to simply telling them about Christ

Evangelization – includes both the declaration of Christ but also the demonstration. it requires sharing, and serving.

Our next step is to LOVE PEOPLE..—Matthew 22 39 “And the second is like it you shall love your neighbor as yourself”.

We will love people by Embracing and Inviting.

EMBRACE- to extend the arms of acceptance, compassion.

We should be concerned for the poor, the helpless, the homeless, the alcoholics, drug addicts…Etc. One of the biggest projects we will employ is the Celebrate Recovery ™

Program. We will not only organize the drug and alcohol parts , but as we grow will bring in other areas that people struggle with. Porn addictions, gambling addictions, food addictions, and then expand to marriage related issues of split families and divorce care issues.

INVITE—when you experience the embrace there will be a desire to become part of the body.

As we serve and share, we demonstrate Christ’s love ,we INVITE others to experience his love personally.

We should create multiple entry points to our church.

Bless this car ministry- assist people with FREE car repair

Bless this house ministry- A way to fix minor home repairs

City outreach’s- combined with other groups

Concerts, - we will do several outreach concerts

Movie nightswe are having a mobile movie studio built to make a portable drive in movie theatre

biker ministry-being 5 miles from the “dragon” a haven for motorcyclist from all over the world come to this place to ride the mountains.

Celebrate recovery- this program will address all sorts of addictions and problems.

Invite to church-

Invite to discipleship

Invite to live the mission….

Invite growth….

Finally we will LEAD THEM TO FOLLOW.

We will do this thru equipping and empowering.

Once an outsider has responded to the invitation and comes to the church, accepts Christs free gift , our real job begins. Our developmental task of leading to maturity begins.

The new testament term is called equipping. Epesians 4 12 “Equipping of the saints for the work of service”.

Equipping prepares all members of the Body to contribute their gifts and functions through which God accomplishes his purpose of the church.

We will have many different types of Discipleship training. To teach on the Spiritual gifts, and sharing your faith, servant evangelism, etc.

And finally we will empower. What good is it to have a group trained and ready if we don’t give them the opportunity. We will thru the Live his mission and Love People stage have many opportunities to empower and lead our people to Reach out to others.

Then as we begin to see this grow in our own community of Madisonville TN, our goal is to plant other churches with the same goals and visions as ours.
